Sentibaby: Go ATENEO!

Last night's game served as the final game for Season 69 of the UAAP. Our loss to UST was heartbreaking, disappointing and painful. There were a lot of tears and i do not think words were enough to describe the emotions that went through the mind and heart of each player, coach and supporter. It was a loss that no one from our side wanted. And it was a loss that won't be soon forgotten. But personally it was more painful because 3 of our best eagles had played their last game. These 3 became leaders when they needed to be. They worked hard and showed the whole of the Ateneo that they were the leaders for a reason. Despite the criticisms, they strived to be better and we were never let down. They were rookies when we won in 2002 and it's understandable that i was hoping that they would bring the title back. I am sure a lot of supporters felt the same way. But i am not in the slightest bit disappointed in the players/coaching staff because they gave us a wonderful season. We saw how the Eagles transformed into a more solid, mature and focused team. The Ateneo couldn't have asked for anything more. But on the other hand, UST also stepped up their game. They were wonderful competitors and they gave us games that will be always be remembered. It was a great fight till the very end. Congratulations UST for a job well done!! To the Ateneo Blue Eaglets, congratulations for winning in the Juniors Division. To the Ateneo Blue Eagles, we are all proud of you!!! We will always be behind you; cheering you on whether in victory or defeat. Coach Norman, thank you for guiding our Eagles... JC, Macky and Doug, the Ateneo community will truly miss you... Thank you for a great and exciting season. You are our champions!
