King Kong 2005

Jimmy: "It's not an adventure story is it Mr. Hayes?"
Mr. Hayes: "No Jimmy, it's not."
Lhb and i got to watch King Kong earlier. Seeing the 2005 version gave me flashbacks of the old movies. I don't remember them completely but i recall that i enjoyed watching them as a kid. Some people would probably still choose the old king kong movies but i believe this movie is spectacular enough to be remembered for a long time. I'd rather not give out spoilers because it's a movie that can keep you at the edge of your seats. For those of you who haven't watched the movie yet go watch it while you can because this should be watched in the big screen (don't wait for the dvd to come out!!! :)).
Peter Jackson's version was a bit surprising to me. Not that i didn't love it (because i did!), but i totally expected a plot that was less exciting? (if that's the right word to describe it!) or even a plot with less...uh..."things"? The first hour of the movie felt like an eternity because i didn't know where the story would lead (though i was familiar with the old/similar plot) and i think i was pretty much looking forward for when king kong was going to appear (i was really really looking forward to that part. hehe). I think this is the type of movie that you either hate or completely love because of the way it was made. Peter Jackson did a wonderful job :)
movie high: wonderfully made! great actors (naomi watts, jack black, adrien brody, andy serkis, etc.) and great effects! and i love king kong :)
movie low: first part was a bit too long and dragging
*today i am thankful for all the food that i can afford to eat
*i am grateful that though i despise the christmas rush, it's almost over!!! yay!!!
