Pride and Glory

Earlier i watched a basketball game, a legends/all-star game to be exact (post season game), of my alma matter (against our longest and strongest archrival). The whole game actually lasted for 4 hours all because of a stupid fight between 2 players. I love my school dearly and i'll always be rooting for them. But sometimes i cannot fully comprehend how this rivalry came to be. I've been to so many games and yet almost each one i've been to gave me some kind of disappointment. Not only because of the games (because i think it's been a year since we've won a game against them), but because some people react to these games as some kind of "do or die" thing. Hurtful words are said, the players fight all the time and the supporters go crazy boo-ing everyone they can. I understand that sometimes all these things are part of the game. But i feel that there are times that it's just a bit too much. I would always want my school to win and be number one in everything. My school will always be my pride and glory and i will always fight for that. I just wish that sometimes, people wouldn't be too caught up in all the rivalry. Too much of that can never be too much fun anways.

*today i am thankful for chicken barbqs :) and basketball season --missing it terribly!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:(
*i am grateful that though sportsmanship is often lost with the need to win, we can still hold our head up high despite the losses
